How to ground your energy

If you’re feeling a little pulled in every direction, light headed or overwhelmed it can be a good thing to stop, pause and get your energy grounded.

Grounding is what connects us back to the physical world, the here and now. It can really help you to focus on the present moment.

Often people think of grounding and instantly just jump to the idea of standing barefoot in the middle of a forest. And yes haha while that can be helpful there are more ways to ground your energy.

Grounding Visualisation – (Not to be done while driving of course)

Close your eyes, take a few deep breaths and really start to tune into your breath. Become conscious of your inhales and exhales. When you feel settled, focus your attention to your feet or lower half of your body. Visualise that there are strong roots coming out of your body, these roots travel down into the earth, into the support of mother nature. They are welcomed here, and you should feel more and more supported with each breath. Stay with this for as long as you need. Take a few more conscious breaths before carrying on with your day.


Grounding Crystals 

As we know crystals all have different properties, there are some who are experts in grounding your energy. Our favourite go-to’s for this are...

-Hematite

-Black Tourmaline

-Smoky Quartz

-Red Jasper

-Bloodstone

-Jet

You may recognise these as crystals that are linked to the root chakra, and that is no surprise as your root chakra is responsible for having a sold foundation on the earth. Hold these crystals, meditate with them or pop one into your pocket (or bra) as you go about your day. If you feel a little too grounded however just be sure to take a break from them and make sure you cleanse them often.


Get into Nature

So as mentioned above, walking barefoot on the earth really does get you grounded. Become fully aware of the noises, sights and smells around you. Especially without the distraction of a phone. Notice how you feel when you head back inside.

Using Essential Oils

Certain essential oils can help you to ground your energy. Earthy scents such as sandalwood, vetiver, cedarwood, frankincense or patchouli can bring you back to the earth. Either diffuse in your space or dilute with a skin safe oil of your choice and rub into the soles of your feet.
